Josie, loved this project! Maybe turn a selection of the 100 paintings into a set of gift cards that can be ordered? They are gorgeous. Looking forward to cheering you on in the next experiment
I’ve loved this project, Josie! I’ve looked forward to opening the emails everyday and seeing what you’ve created and written. I’m delighted to hear that it will continue, however frequently works for you xo
I love them all together. Beautiful! You have a distinctive style! I can totally appreciate the achievement. I've only just discovered this Substack of yours so am very pleased to hear you will be continuing on with it.
I often want to respond to something you've posted, whether it's the image or the words but then I'm not sure quite how to articulate the feelings I have about it. But today feels easier. I want to say thank you, for sharing your process, your vulnerability and your infectious discipline. You've made me feel it's time to pick up my brushes again. I'm always held back by the sense that painting, more than other forms of artistic expression, needs to be perfect or it's not valid (when I do it, I mean). This means I deprive myself of a creative outlet I've previously enjoyed for the misguided sense of not being good enough. Enough of that nonsense! Thank you, Josie x
I am thrilled to bits that you are continuing, and equally thrilled to hear that you are going for a DIY approach to further explorations and adventures in art. The academic world can be a joy stealer sometimes.
And a big yes to a postcard set - they are the thing I buy in exhibition gift shops. I keep the ones I love most and then delight others by sending them a note. We all need more proper post on the doormat!
I've absolutely loved shaped, Josie, and thank you so much for sharing. I've loved all of them, thinking every time how very talented you are. We're our own harshest critics, for sure. Love your plans and reflections. 💖
I'm delighted you'll carry on sharing your art! I like the idea of it being an adventure and the learning being the point. Being perfect, whatever that even is, would be so boring. Getting to grow is part of the fun. Enjoy your experiments!
I have loved this project and it became a gentle window within my day. Glad to hear it is continuing and growing in a new form. The treasure here for me has been the combination of your paintings with your words. You have been a writer who paints, (or a painter who writes - it doesn't really matter,) but I have loved the interconnectedness of the two.
Thank you Josie. Shaped has been one of the highlights of my day. I loved all of them, but have a particular soft spot for the pigeon, crows in the sky, dandelion, and pinecone 😌 So beautiful. Postcards would be wonderful!
I have way too many favorites! But if I had to pick then I would say 24, 76, and 96 may be the ones I looked at the most. Thank you for letting me in on your art adventures. It’s been an honor and I can’t wait to see where else the path leads.
I have found your daily paintings so inspiring, Josie - thank you so much for sharing them with us.
I loved so many of them, but the cactus was a particular favourite.
I think your DIY Art School is a brilliant and wise choice. My own experience of Art College has led me to fear they can kill off creativity, as every move becomes measured and scrutinised.
Thank you for the reminder that it's the doing it that matters ❤️🙏
Your DIY art study sounds ideal. I'm looking forward to seeing what paths your curiosity leads you to meander on! Kudos for retaining accountability while eschewing pressure. Excellent choice.

Ooh, or postcards, maybe! That's a good idea. I'll do some research. Thank you Ronell!
Postcards - yay!

Thank you Josie for creating and sharing your beautiful work, your beautiful world!
I don’t always comment but I DO always look forward to and enjoy your efforts, and share them with my friends.
Thank you x
What an achievement. I opened your email each night and delighted in it. As always Josie, you inspire me.

I’ve loved it all. It’s been a pleasure to open each fresh email and see what you painted. No favourites, too many too mention.
