I think navigating illness when away on holiday is so difficult. We just can't do what we want or as much as we want to, anyway. It's accepting that, as well as the weather and anything else thrown at us, which is where peace lies. X
A little vacation away from the humdrum of regular life at home is good, even if it’s only ok, right? And those foxgloves you’ve painted, sure helped to lift my spirits tonight! Thank you Josie.
I stay at a retreat - so it’s the same place - and have had some GREAT stays there, lots of good stays, and last time a pretty awful stay due to jammed heating being on all night long and getting zero sleep.
Nature is so beautiful though, and I now know that a walk in the garden or along my favourite stretch of footpath can lift the most difficult of stays away from home into something special … like a reset button.
Oh you have caught those foxgloves wonderfully well! And your contentment - letting it be there anyway. I do love the different senses your words and painting invoke!
Sweet foxglove, and wise words, suck the best out of everything.

I always love the phrase "wherever you go, there you are" and think it always applies extra much on holiday!
